INGREDIENTS
- 2 liters (8 cups) of water
- 125 to 180 ml (½ to ¾ cup) of sugar, according to your taste
- 2 lemons (juice and zest)
- 500 ml (2 cups) of fresh or frozen raspberries
- 5 bags of Rooibos red tea
- Fresh raspberries to decorate
- Ice cubes
PREPARATION
1. In a pot, boil 500 ml (2 cups) of water, sugar, lemon and raspberries.
2. Remove from heat, add tea bags and let steep for 5 minutes. Then strain (pour through a filter). Pour into a pitcher with the rest of the water and refrigerate until the mixture is completely cool.
3. Serve with fresh raspberries and ice cubes.
Note
Rooibos is a small bush native of South Africa. Once crushed, the branches and leaves of rooibos can be brewed and consumed like tea, hot or cold. A fermentation process gives it both a reddish color and a sweeter taste than green rooibos.
